I think we are getting close to the point where it is no longer worth keeping it going. The sad demise of a once great community.

Has Graham said anything about it? It does feel like the place has been dwindling, especially with Del gone, he was such a constant here. Its only a handful of us that pop in here occasionally now

Unless there are any money issues I'd say leave it open. I'm happy to take admin duties off you if you fancy a break.

It's not an easy decision, but the forum seems to be in a coma and on life-support at the moment.

Have you heard from management?

I'd be sad to see it go, that's just the way I am though. I was sad to see Ceefax get turned off too, but I can understand why it happened.

What we really need is something to talk about. A new album or a few tour dates, maybe? Hope springs, and all that.

- I had friends round last night, they were trying to tell me that Graham's playing Peterborough later in the month. It seemd an unlikely tale, but I had to look into it anyway. Turns out they'd muddled him with Bruce Foxton. Rolling Eyes

Well, he has done a couple of dates in the past few months, not solo dates but he has been playing... I nearly made the London one but work got in the way in the end, otherwise I would have happily done a review and a few pics.

If we want to keep this going we have to make an effort to, well, keep it going. Mea culpa as well as I haven't been very active lately, I admit. Or maybe it is time to let it go, I don't know, just thinking out loud too. Social media seems to have taken over in general and communities like this are starting to be a thing of the past. I guess it all comes down to management and what they want to do.

Also, I think you might need new mates! Shocked

I was just thinking that I hadn't been here for ages, then I came on and saw this. It would be a shame, I've made some great friends through this forum, but equally I am guilty of rarely coming on here anymore with a yard of horses to run and a million other animals to look after (and two jobs).
I guess real life sometimes gets in the way.

Hope you are all well though, I do keep in contact with a lot of you via FB.

Occasional poster since 2005ish

You don't need to keep posting for it to continue, as long as EMI are happy to fund the hosting still.

That said, not much going on now so it's be no great loss..

I know I'm not in the best position to give my opinion here, but I would wait for a new album to be released before taking any "irreversible" decision.

New songs, new gigs... could go hand in hand with new members, or just old ones who'd come back here because there would be something new to talk about.

Hosting is not the issue. The problem is the lack of people who post. You can’t sustain a forum with half a dozen regular posters. You clearly are still interested in what is going on but you don’t post. I know that there are many like you. I know that many look at the forum each day but don’t post. Now why is that?

In the last couple of years or so many have joined the forum but for some strange reason they don’t post. I don’t get that. I go to the trouble of setting up accounts and they never post. I would like one of them to post and explain that to me.

As for it not being a great loss - Well that is a matter of opinion. I think it would be but there is clearly a lack of interest. A tour or a new album would help but this forum has never been all about Graham. I know that’s a problem with some fans. The way I see it, there is plenty of scope for all type of discussion. I also hear that “I no longer have time,” or “I have got a lot going on in my life” Yet they all have the time to post crap on twitter and facebook on a daily basis.

I'm sure it has great sentimental value for quite a few people.

...well hello there - oooopps - guilty as well
this whole bernie sanders thing has grabbed me
and facebook is definitely where i've been
take a look ?
team bernie - mendonoma

discussions used to flow far and wide here
and there was a whole london contingent
they got together regularly for all sorts of stuff

and graham was playing gigs and putting
out albums - it was a lot of fun -
