I'll hold my hands up for that. I remember we had some great debates in the past. A different time I guess.

It would be fair to say that English is not the first language of some of the new members. So I understand if they might not feel confident about joining in. But remember Sze-wing, she had the right idea, she just started he own threads...

Firstly, hi! Secondly, wow - I haven't been on a music forum since about 2003 - feels like I've picked up a phone book again...

So I had a late night (slightly) boozy YouTube clickhole session on the telly a little while back... Suggested next viewing was 'No Distance Left to Run' - watched that (with one eye open) and thought, gee, that Coxon's a rather funny bloke, and the tunes aren't bad either - perhaps I should have bothered to listen to them over the years? Haven't really ever devoted much time to listening to Blur, not particularly intentionally, but y'know how sometimes you just don't get around to something? Yeah well, that. (Also, being in Australia - they probably weren't as 'in your face' as they would have been in the UK in the 90s)
On the strength of his witty little character and some masterful tunes - I decided to give his solo stuff a listen the next day and BAM! He's a bloody legend and wish I'd given it a listen sooner. The listens have turned into a daily ritual since to cover the back catalogue - delightful!

That's all from me!

good intro zooper, sorry totally missed your post... welcome to the forum. where in australia are you from? we have another aussie on the forum.

it's a great feeling to get into something in your own time, without the hype or media interest... thats the great thing about music- it helps with the likes of ytube - it gives you the chance to find stuff that you missed at the time... so what's your favourite coxon song at the moment
