Otherwise known as the Franken-Strat? I read a tech guy had said "here, have a play with that, see what you think", or something, and it just happened to be at hand when those HK jam sessions were recorded.

It's been bumped for a Jazzmaster on tour, hasn't it? I'm not convinced it's loved. I don't love it anyway, I much prefer the guitar sound in Go Out / Lonesome Street than in Ghost Ship.

I know that Graham has said in the past that he doesn't like playing a Strat... not sure if that has changed or not but like you I did notice that he's not using it when playing live. Is it a Jazzmaster or Jaguar that Gra is playing? ... not sure but I do prefer it to the sound of the Strat.

I thought it was a Jaguar myself, but was put right elsewhere. It's a Jazzmaster - which has chunkier pickups, apparently.

thanks i didn't know that. I am a fan of the Jazzmaster - I like the warm tones and just overall variety of sound. I notice that Graham has also been playing a new tele on the magic whip tour.

That's a Jazzmaster that Graham has been using for tunes like He Thought of Cars, Thought I was a Spaceman, Coffee & TV. It's made quite a few appearances.

The Beckmour is a black strat with a maple neck that his guitar tech made with an old neck that Jeff Beck didn't want on a black body with white pick guards (a look made famous by Gilmour) so thusly name the Beckmour by Graham. All of this comes from an interview I read a bit ago. Pretty cool that he's getting out there and using different guitars on tour. Looks like that strat was used on MW a lot.
