How to play the song basicly, if youve got it tabbed and could post it, that would be fantastic.

i haven't tabbed it, i never do. er....get ready for the worst explanation ever. i wish i knew how to write tab. playing by ear has its drawbacks.

well....its in d.

the intro....you're playing three strings: d: open throughout, g string on the 11th fret and b string on the 10th fret. slide up into that shape.

then it descends....with the note on the b string staying the same but the g-string dropping from 11th to 9th fret. again, slide up into it. the open d string should rattle throughout this.

the third part of the intro is the same shape as the last bit, only dropped two frets.

then drop into a normal a shape on the 2nd fret and hammer on the first note, pick the 2nd one and do a little pull off and the sustained 4th note (a sus4)....then finish the intro by playing d.

and that's just the fookin intro! this is country-ish with all your little run-downs and bass notes etc...

D

Livin is so hard...

D7

G....................................................D

Grinds you down right from the start...

Bm...................... G

So you'd better count your friends

D.................... Bm

on a single hand

the next bit (not judgin and not budgin) are chords i'm unsure of the name of. could be gmaj7....sliding up two frets with your little finger seeing some action too.

this is right i'm just unsure of the names, so i think its

not judging and not budgin...

Gmaj7 / Amaj7 (get that little finger making the extra note and hold it down as you slide up two frets, take it off when you arrive!!) / Em (7th fret)

and the same again except ending on D rather than Em.

abysmally explained, soz.

the middle 8 is self explantory once you've got the other chords.....its g/d/g/bm/g/a type thing.

Hey folks, hate to resurrect an old thread, but I'm still itching to learn how to play this tune and was wonderin' if anyone out there could post a decent tab for it? I forget where I found the live clip of the song all those moons ago, but for me it ranks right up there as one of my all-time fave 'Ham moments. Would be mighty appreciative if someone can help out. Mucho gratas in advance.

intro

d---0----------0------11---0-----9---0h2--------------||

i tried to tab what sean described but there's something wrong with the jiggly hammer on pull off bit during the a. i suck at figuring out songs by ear so this is something that sounds approximately right.
